I am a strong believer that health care is not an individual sport. To solve the major hurdles ahead of us, all clinical disciplines need to work together. Microbial resistance, over use and inappropriate use of antibiotics are major problems that a closer working relationship between infection prevention professionals and pharmacy can only improve.
To that end, I recently added my comments to an article in Infection Control Today about the use of clinical surveillance and decision support tools in this area.
